Q&A: What if I don't make the A-level grade?

If you have applied through UCAS to go to university or college, you will need to login to Track to check whether you have been accepted by your firm or insurance choice.

If your results do not meet the conditions of any of their offers you will automatically be entered into Clearing where you can apply to universities and colleges that have course vacancies.

You can find information regarding the next steps after results day in the students area of the UCAS website.

If your results are worse than you expected and you cannot get a place through Clearing:

  • Speak to the Head of Sixth Form, Careers Co-ordinator or Adviser at the sixth form, college or sixth form college you studied at - they will be able to offer information and advice about your options
  • Contact Norfolk's Information, Advice & Careers Guidance helpline on 0344 800 8022

If you have changed your mind or are unsure about what you want to do you can:

Speak to a Careers Adviser on 080 800 13219.  They offer information and advice on careers and learning and are open between 8am and 2am every day.

Find out what training, apprenticeships and vacancies are available locally by going to the Training & Other Courses page and the Jobs page on Help You Choose, where you can also register for Jobmatching.
