There’s lots of things you need to remember to do in Year 13. Use this checklist to keep track of what’s left to do.
In autumn term
- UCAS Standard and Route A applications for Art and Design begin in September and need to be made by 15th January 2008 (See Route B below). But the closing date for applications for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science and to Oxford or Cambridge is 15th October 2007.
- You can apply for up to 5 courses in UCAS (but only 4 specifically for Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science).
- Applications for Art Foundation courses are usually made this term or early next.
- CUKAS applications to be in before October 1st.
In spring term
- You receive offers of places, or rejections, from your 5 UCAS choices.
- Offers are usually conditional and can be in points (e.g. 300), grades (e.g. BBB) or a mixture of both.
- When you have all your decisions, you choose one offer as your firm choice and another as your insurance.
- If you have no offers, or reject all offers, you can make additional applications, one at a time, via UCAS Extra.
- Route B Art and Design applications need to be made by March. You can make up to 3 choices in Route B and a maximum of 5 in A and B combined.
- If you are applying for entry in next academic year, apply for financial support. (Click HE finance for more information.)
During the summer
- If your results meet the conditional offer, your place will be confirmed.
- You’re not normally able to reject it in favour of a place elsewhere.
- If you’re not successful in finding a place, you can apply for courses with vacancies through clearing.
